Robert E. Sandstrom, M.D.
Dr. Sandstrom graduated with a Bachelor of Science from McGill University of
Montreal, Providence Quebec, Canada in 1968. Dr. Sandstrom completed medical
school at the University of Washington, Seattle in 1971.
He completed a rotating internship at Toronto General Hospital and Toronto’s
Sick Children’s Hospital. Dr. Sandstrom completed a residency in Anatomic and
Clinical Pathology at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.
He concurrently served as a Clinical Fellow on the faculty of Harvard Medical
School. He completed a fellowship in Dermatopathology under the direction of Dr.
Martin Mihm at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.
Dr. Sandstrom is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. He also
is certified in Immunohematology and Blood Banking. He holds joint board
certification in Dermatopathology from the American Board of Dermatology and
American Board of Pathology. Dr. Sandstrom is an active staff member of St.
John's Medical Center, Longview, Washington, and consulting staff member at
Providence Hospital, Centralia, Washington, Morton General Hospital, Morton,
Washington, Ocean Beach Hospital, Ilwaco, Washington and Columbia Memorial
Hospital, Astoria, Oregon.
He is licensed in Washington and Oregon.
