Stroke,
cowdid stenosis, Alzheimer's disease, frontal lobe dementia, multiple infarct dementia,
schizophrenia, drug abuse (cocaine), obsessive compulsive disorder,
seizure, attention deficit disorder, traumatic brain dysfunction, sleep apnea,
AIDS, encephalopathy.

Bone (3 phase, limited or whole body)
| Clinical Indications |
Assess for bone
metastases, bone tumor, arthritic changes, Paget's disease, osteomyelitis,
osteonecrosis, bone trauma (stress fracture), loosening of prosthesis, aseptic
necrosis.

bone metastases, back pain, arthritic changes. |

-Appointment #1 -
15 minutes.
Patient returns in 2-3 hours for imaging. Scan time--1 hour.
-Appointment #2 - 1 hour, 15 minutes

Nuclear Medicine consultation. Recent
thyroid chemistries.
BHCG for all female patients of child-bearing age (12-55 no exceptions).

I-131 oral
dose--less than 20 minutes.

•Thyroid Med Discontinue List:
-Radiographic contrast agents – 6 weeks
-Myelogram – 1 year
- Antithyroid drugs (PTU and Tapazole/methimazole) – 1 week
- Levothyroxine (Synthroid) – 6 weeks
- Triiodothyronine (Cytomel) – 2 weeks

Thyroid carcinoma.

Nuclear Medicine consultation.

Oral I-131
solution. Requires hospitalization. Visitation restricted.

Discontinue
all thyroid meds. Recent (within 1-2 days),
serum pregnancy test (beta HCG) on all females in child bearing
age. Inpatient procedure 1-3 days.
